"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." –Marcel Proust
Born with a passion for advocacy and inclusion, Justin brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his role as an Executive Assistant. From 2014 to 2024, he served in a variety of leadership roles with the National Federation of the Blind, where he developed a strong foundation in advocacy, mentorship, and community engagement. His work also includes time spent at two summer camps serving blind students, as well as providing employment services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through Include Me Advocacy Group.
Justin’s perspective is deeply informed by his own lived experience as someone who is totally blind, has moderate hearing loss, and is neurodivergent. At the age of 13, he connected with blind mentors who demonstrated that a successful and fulfilling life is not only possible, but attainable with the right skills and accommodations. That experience became a defining moment, shaping his commitment to empowering others and expanding access to opportunity.
Throughout his career, Justin has focused on supporting individuals with diverse needs, emphasizing practical strategies, skill-building, and person-centered approaches. His work reflects a belief that meaningful support must be tailored to each individual’s goals, strengths, and real-world environment.
He holds a Master of Theological Studies, reflecting a lifelong interest in exploring complex questions and the human experience. Outside of his professional work, Justin lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee with his wife, two cats, and a dog. He enjoys reading speculative fiction, narrative nonfiction, and philosophy, has a broad appreciation for music, and often unwinds with true crime documentaries and fiction series.
Today, Justin is excited to contribute his skills, insight, and passion to a team whose mission closely aligns with his own commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and meaningful impact.
