"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes." –Marcel Proust
Born and raised in Ashland, Ohio, I’ve dedicated my career to helping individuals of all abilities access meaningful learning and growth opportunities. My journey began at Bowling Green State University with a focus on Deaf Education, and I completed my degree in Early Childhood Intervention at Ashland University. I hold additional licensure in Early Childhood Education as well as certification as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments.
Over the years, I’ve taught and supported students in a wide range of environments—from a U.S. military public school in Germany to traditional public schools, charter schools, and private schools. I’ve served as a teacher’s aide, a lead teacher in a cross-categorical unit, an intervention specialist promoting inclusion, and a general education teacher at the Ohio State School for the Blind. One of my most rewarding projects was designing and leading a five-week outdoor school program for preschool and kindergarten students, blending hands-on exploration with foundational learning.
My perspective is also shaped by my own lived experience with disability. As someone managing PTSD, depression, anxiety, and two chronic illnesses, I understand firsthand the daily challenges of navigating health, accessibility, and resilience. This personal insight informs my professional work, helping me approach every situation with empathy, authenticity, and a commitment to practical, person-centered solutions.
This diverse experience has given me the opportunity to work closely with individuals with motor disabilities, neurodivergence, visual impairments, and those who are nonverbal. It has also taught me the importance of tailoring solutions to fit real-life needs, whether in the classroom, at home, or in the community.
In recognition of my work, I was honored with the State Support Team Region 7 Outstanding Educator Award in 2012 and nominated as an Ohio Teacher of the Year in 2022. Today, I bring this same passion and expertise into my business, offering creative, practical, and inclusive strategies that empower individuals and open doors to new possibilities.
